Kaare Meier

Kaare Meier graduated as MD from University of Southern Denmark in 2006.

In 2012 he achieved his PhD degree from Aarhus University with the thesis “Spinal cord stimulation: Clinical and experimental aspects”.

He is working as Staff Specialist at Department of Anesthesiology and Department of Neurosurgery, Aarhus University Hospital, and as Associate Professor at Aarhus University, Denmark.

Kaare Meier has worked extensively on various aspects of neuromodulation, both from a scientific and a clinical perspective.
He is former president of the Nordic Neuromodulation Society and current Regional Director-at-Large of the International Neuromodulation Society.
He has been used on several occasions as a speaker, consultant, and teacher in neuromodulation.

Jens Christian Hedemann Sørensen

JCHS is the professoral Chair at the Head & Heart Centre at Aarhus University Hospital and Chairman of Danish Neuroscience Centre. He is a trained neurosurgeon and clinically active in neuromodulation treatments, of chronic pain, spasticity and movement disorders. JCHS has been active in neuroscience research for more than 25 years and has founded Center for Experimental Neurosciense (CENSE), a group focusing on translational neuroscience using a large animal model.

His research interests are neuromodulation through spinal cord and deep brain stimulation, therapeutic and stem cell transplantation as well as trophic factor infusion systems. Techniques in neurobiology, neurosurgery and neuroimaging. Parkinsons disease, Alzheimers disease, Major depression, Chronic pain. Patient centered health care and neuromodulation information technology. Brain machine interfaces. Innovation and technology transfer.
